9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking Trip
On this 9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking Trip, you conquer Rwenzori which is a range of mountains covering parts of Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. Uganda side of the mountains is safe for hiking. The highest point of the Rwenzori is Margherita peak on Mount Stanley at an elevation of 5109 M Above Sea Level and it is permanently snow capped. Rwenzori ranges are the best destination for hiking and can be done throughout the year.
In terms of location, Rwenzori mountains are located in Kasese and are crossed by the equator. It is the only location along the equator where you can find snow throughout the year. Therefore, the efforts applied to climb up to the top are worth it at the end of your trip.
Day1: Arrival and Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe
On your day 1 of your 9 days Rwenzori hiking trip, you will arrive at Entebbe or Kigali international Airport and will be welcomed by Alps Trendy Safaris representative. He will brief you about the trip and then transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning transfer to Rwenzori Mountains National Park and start Hiking.
You will enjoy your breakfast and get ready for your transfer to Rwenzori Mountains where you will have your hot lunch on arrival. Spend the entire day relaxing at your lodge as you get ready for the hiking adventure and challenge.

Day 3: Rwenzori Mountains National Park and start the hiking to Nyabitaba Hut (2651 Metres)
On your day 3 of your 9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking Trip, you will start with a lovely breakfast and thenl proceed to Nyakalengeja to start your hiking adventure. This journey takes you through the thick equatorial vegetation and along the Serene Mubuku River before arriving at the Nyabitaba lodge which is 2651 meters. You will encounter wildlife on your way such as primate species like blue monkeys, Rwenzori colobus monkeys and the red monkeys. You will have your delicious lunch and dinner as well as an overnight at Nyabitaba hut.

Day 4: Rwenzori Nyabitaba hut and hike to John Matte Hut (3380 Metres)
On this fourth day of your hiking adventure, you will start with an early morning breakfast and proceed with your hike up to John Matte Hut. You will pass through Kurt Shaffer Bridge where you will see the brilliant Mubuku confluence. Then reach the Nyamuleju hut for lunch where you will breathe in nature at its best upon seeing a scenic view of Mountain Stanley and Mountain Speke peaks. Proceed to hike through the open areas, giant lobelias and the heath. Moss woodland before continuing to John Matte cabin at 3415 meters where you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Hike from John Matte hut to Bujuku Hut (3962 Metres)
Day 5 of your 9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking trip will begin with a good breakfast and then ascend to Bujuku hut. As you ascend, you will take in breathtaking panoramas of Mount Baker to the South and Mount Stanley to the West, you will then reach Bujuku hut which is situated between Mount Speke and Mount Baker where you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 6: Wake up and Hike to Elena Hut (4541 Metre)
Get ready for your breakfast and then continue your hike up to Elena hut which is 4541metres abov sea level. This trail takes you through more bog and steep slopes west of Lake Bujuku and through the magical groundsel gully as it ascends to Scott Elliot pass at 4372 Metres. You will then continue your hike up to the icy and coolly Elena hut where you will have your dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Hike to Magherita Peak (5109 Metres) and Descend to Kitandara Hut (4027 Metres)
Your day 7 of your 9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking Trip will begin with an early morning breakfast and thereafter you will continue with your hike to the highest point -Margherita Peak on Mount Stanley. While at the top, you will have a view of Irene Lake, Mount Speke and the surrounding areas. Take lots of photos and enjoy the snow peak. You will then descend to Elena hut where you will have your lunch and then descend through Scott Elliot to Kitandara hut where you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 8: Descend to Guy Yeoman (3450 Metres)
You will wake up early on your day 8 of 9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking Trip and have breakfast and then you move through the base of Mount Baker and continue along the base of Mountain Rwenzori to Fresh Field Pass. From here the descent continues through the rock shelter at Bujangolo and then you will reach Guy Yeoman hut which is located just at the banks of river Mubuku where you will have your dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Descend to Nyakalengeja (1615 Metres)
Your last day of your 9 Day Mount Rwenzori Hiking Trip will start with a delicious breakfast and thereafter you will descend to Nyakalengeja which is located at the base of the mountain, you will then have your dinner and an overnight at the base.

Day 10: Morning transfer to Kampala or Entebbe
