9 Days Rwanda Full Experience Safari and Adventure

The Rwanda full experience safari covers Rwanda’s three national parks. Rwanda is a unique tour destination in Africa and a home to the rare mountain gorillas. Rwanda has three national parks and each park has its own different attractions. The parks include; Volcanoes national park which is popularly known for mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, Nyungwe national park that is popularly  known for chimpanzees and then finally Akagera national park which is known for wildlife games such as buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, and many others.

These 9 days Rwanda wildlife safari will give you an opportunity to have game drives, do gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park, excellent bird watching, cultural experiences and nature walks. Go for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe national park and then have game drives in Akagera national park.

 Day 1; Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes national park

On your arrival at Kigali airport, you will be met by our professional guide who will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Volcanoes national park. This journey to the Northern Province takes about 5hrs and it passes through beautiful terraced hillsides that display Rwanda’s landscape. Volcanoes national park is popularly known as a sanctuary to the rare mountain gorillas. On your arrival at Volcanoes national park, you will check in at  at Tiloreza Eco Lodge for mid-range accommodation.

Accommodation:

Day 2; Gorilla Tracking Experience   

You will start your day with an early breakfast and then be transferred to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. You will then head into the park under the lead of arranger or guide for an opportunity to track the mountain gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of Virunga. After spotting these incredible creatures, you will be given a chance to have a face to face encounter with these rare gorillas and also interact with them. After this amazing experience, you will return to your lodge for your lunch and refreshments. You will then  go for the Iby Iwacu village visit to enjoy cultural experiences, traditions and beliefs of the  local people. From here, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation:

Day 3; Golden Monkey Trekking 

You will begin your day with breakfast and get ready to be transferred to the park headquarters for golden monkey briefing from park rangers. You will then walk into the forest to track these primates. The golden monkeys are said to be the most endangered primates in Volcanoes national park. After tracking out these primates from a closer range which lasts about 2-3hrs, you will return to your lodge for lunch and rest of the day relaxation

Day 4; Visiting Dian Fossy Grave

After having an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Karisoke, where Dian Fossy, a woman who is popularly known for having carried out a comprehensive research about mountain gorillas in Africa was buried and her friend gorilla which was called Digit. This area was designated as a tourist attraction. From here, you will return to your lodge for an early lunch and get ready to be transferred to Kigali city for an overnight stay at Kigali Marriott hotel.

Accommodation:

Day 5; Ground transfer to Nyungwe national park

You will wake up at your time of convenience for your breakfast and then get ready to be picked for Kigali genocide museum visit. . You will travel to Kigali genocide memorial Centre which is located on the out skirts of the city Centre. This memorial museum will help you to understand the cause, tragedy and successful rebuilding post genocide. You will also come to realize that over 250,000 deceased are buried on the site of this museum. From here, you will continue your journey up to Nyungwe national park in the South. On your arrival, you will check in at Nyungwe Eco lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation:

Day 6; Chimpanzee trekking experience

You will have an early breakfast and get ready to be transferred to the park headquarters as early as 5;00am for chimpanzee trekking briefing. You will then head deep into the forest under the supervision of a guide for an opportunity to track these unique chimpanzees from a closer range. This experience will last from 2-3hrs and its unique in its own way. While tracking the chimpanzees, you should look out for other primate such as the colobus monkeys. After this amazing experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch and rest of the day relaxation.

Accommodation:

Day 7; Ground transfer to Akagera national park via Kigali

You will start your day with Breakfast and then get ready for your transfer to the last park which is Akagera national park. This journey will last you most of the day for its about 8 hours journey with a stop over in Kigali for an early lunch and then proceed to Akagera national park that is located in the Eastern province. On your arrival, you will check in at Akagera game lodge for you dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation:

Day 8; Exploring Akagera national park

You will begin your day with breakfast as usual and then go for a morning game drive in the park. This game drive will provide you with an opportunity to see animals such as leopards, elephants, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, giraffes, water bucks  and many others from a closer range. After this game drive that lasts about 3-4 hrs., you will return to your lodge for lunch and afternoon relaxation. In the evening, you will go for a cultural tour to enjoy the life style of the local people and learn about their traditional beliefs and customs. You will later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9; Ground transfer back to Kigali

On your last day of this amazing safari, you will start it with breakfast and then get ready for your ground transfer back to Kigali town or Kigali airport for your out bound flight and that will mark the end of our service.
